Why do you think Chino fought all those fights to acquire a nickname? Why were nicknames in Spanish Harlem so significant?
Do you think Chino friendship with Sapo is good for him and his american dream?
How are Sapo and Chino different? how do there american dreams differ?
How do you think Willie Bodega changed from being an activist to a drug dealer? How has his view of the world changed from when he was an activist?
Chino fought fights to acquire a nickname because he wanted a status and to be someone people knew. Nicknames in Spanish Harlem was significant because everyone would know them for that and were important. I think Chino's friendship with Sapo is good for him because he was someone he could rely on and idolized. He also helped Chino with his american dream by finding and making his identity. Sapo and Chino are different because Sapo has a reputation for fights and loves himself. On the other hand Chino hated himself which made it easier for him to get into fights.
ReplyDelete1. Chino got into fights because he wanted to be known in the Spanish Harlem. Nicknames given by parents didn't mean anything to the "hood".
ReplyDelete2. I think his friendship with Sapo is strong but not good. Sapo is a negative influence to Chino.
3.Chino's American dream is through studies and knowledge, while Sapo's os through business and money.
4. Willie Bodega changed from being an activist to a drug lord because he didnt see any improvements through the government so he decided to take care of the issues in his own hands by doing it illegaly to help hs community.
